In order to assess the initial level of knowledge on diabetes and pregnancy, an anonymous survey of 438 doctors who work with pregnant women was conducted: 274 obstetricians, 96 family physicians, 52 neonatologists and 16 anesthesiology and intensive care. The results showed that experts had a low level of knowledge on diabetes and pregnancy. It’s needed to develop clinical protocols (standards) for planning and management of pregnancy, childbirth in women with diabetes mellitus and training.

We analyzed the statistical materials of the Republican Center of medical statistics and in¬formation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan, the data of annual reports of the Khujand regional and district Centers of Reproductive health, as well as the data of annual reports of obstetrical establishments of the Sughd region in 1995-2011. Found a low level of contraceptive use among women of childbearing age Sughd region.
